| Sardar Patel Smarak Mahavidyalaya is a self-financed institution of higher education at Larpur village in Ambedkar Nagar district. It is recognised by the Government of Uttar Pradesh for running undergraduate classes and is affiliated to Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Awadh University, Faizabad.

| The college building is located about 12 km away from Akbarpur city bus stand and 10 km away from Shehzadpur Poorvi police station.

| Being self-financed, the college does not get any financial assistance from any quarters and with the very limited resources, it is making all out efforts to impart quality education to the students seeking admission here. This is reflected in over 90 per cent pass percentage of the students.
